Brooke's Baptizimal

Okay, it has been a few days since I last blogged. Adam has been working and outage and getting home late and by the time he gets home and I get to work I am tired by the time I type all of my dictation that I don't want to type anymore. Okay enough of the pitty party. LOL. On the other hand I told some of you that I would post pictures of Brooke being baptized. Funny story behind these pictures though. This is actually a reinactment as my camera went dead when the actual event was taking place and I didn't get one. This is why Brooke has this little smerk on her face in one of the pictures. So, I figured, "okay, mom and dad have their camera I will just have to get some of their pictures." Can you believe their camera did the same thing!!! We decided it must have been the devil trying to sabatoge Brooke's happy day. The funny thing is I checked my batteries before I left home that morning and they were fine! Kinda scary. Then, let me tell you what Avana did to me! That little one took two or three years off of my life's span that same day at the church. After Brooke was through and came out the church came around and gave her their handshake or hug of christian fellowship. Avana got in my lap and said,"I want in the water!". I said no that water is not to swim in. Well, afterwards we had potluck at church and were in the fellowship hall. I had to run outside and put Brooke's wet clothes in the car. I thought Adam had put her in the highchair or if he didn't I thought someone did being there was several people there from our family. I get back in there and Avana is no where to be found. My heart stopped because I looked down into the santurary and the door on Brooke's side leading to the Baptistry was open. I began to cry and ran like a mad woman through the church hollering for Avana! Okay, I get almost all the way up to the door and just to the left of the door in a little niche is the church organ. The little stinker was sitting at the organ pretending to play it. I was never so glad to see that child! At the same time, I wanted to beat her because she didn't answer me! I don't know who was supposed to be watching her while I was outside but between all of them the couldn't keep up with her. Sorry it took so long to get back on here and blog. We have had birthday parties and things going on all weekend.

Another M&M Story

Well, Avana found some M&M's yesterday morning when she got up. Her sister had left a bag of them on the end table next to the couch and I didn't know it. She said I ate M&M's momma. So I think nothing about it and put the rest of them up. Later when I am changing her out of her sleeper, I unzip them and start to pull her leg out of one side to find that her leg is coated in chocolate!!! At first the worst crossed my mind that she had pooped all over the place but then I could see the little chunks of the M&M colored outside mixed in. So I say, what is this on your legs Avana? She replies, "I put them down my pajamas for later!" Ya'll it was a huge mess on both of her legs. I had to put her in the tub to wash them off. I didn't think about getting a picture of her but should have because after the fact it was quite funny thinking about it. We had a long discussion about how we don't put food in our clothes.

There's an M&M in my Bed!

Ya'll this is a funny story that happened last night at my house. My little Avana loves M&Ms! We carry them with us almost everywhere we go for her. She likes the mini M&Ms the best. So last night her sister was in our bed reading while Avana was watching a movie in her room. Adam and I were watching a movie on t.v. that neither of them particulalry needed to watch so that is what they chose to do. Well, Avana got bored with her movie real quick since sissy was in another room reading. She decided she wanted to read too so she got a big handful of her books and said "I read with sissy in your bed". So we said okay. Well, then she wants some M&M's to eat while she is reading. Adam says "Not in my bed!" She keeps on so I asked him if it was okay if I put her a few in a bowl so she would hush about it. He agreed just so he didn't have to hear it again. Well, she brought the bowl back in there and said that she ate them all so I gave her a few more and never thought another thing about it. The next morning Adam wakes up and he has M&Ms stuck to his leg hairs! LOL!!! I laughed so hard I cried because I didn't get anything on me because they were all on his side of the bed. Needless to say I had to change the sheets because there was ground in chocolate on the sheets from him sleeping on them but it was hilarious to me that he was the one that got them all stuck to his legs. He didn't think it was too funny until later when I was picking at him about it. That is just the little things in life that make every day interesting around our house.

Praise the Lord!!!

I am so excited today to tell you that Brooke was saved this morning at church!!! She has been asking questions here and there and today was the day! It lifts such a burden off of our chest that she is now taken care of and I have no worries where she is going when she leaves this earth. She will be baptized next Sunday. Just wanted to spread the GREAT news!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's day today. Adam had to work today so we didn't plan to do anything this afternoon as he will be in late and trying to get in anywhere would be impossible. Adam got Brooke flowers and sent them to school to her yesterday. She said she almost cried because he had never sent her flowers before. What is funny is she heard me tell him not to spend money on me for flowers. I am not a flower person, I would rather him bring me home some chocolate covered strawberries or something along that line as I had flowers. When I told him not to get me flowers Brooke piped in and said " I sure would like some flowers". After she went to bed Adam asked me if I would go order her some yesterday and get them sent to school. I figure he has definately started something. Here are a picture of the roses he got for her. Avana is into any kind of animal from domestic pets to dinosaurs! She loves them all. For Christmas Santa brought her some animals that you could switch the legs, arms, mouth, nose, ears and tails on. She loves to play with them. Fisher Price has this collection of animals called Imanginext Adventures. I am working on getting her all the peices of it. She has the alligator, turtle, warthog, meerkats, zebra and baboon. Freds sells them cheaper than Target or Wal-Mart but they don't always have them. Yesterday I went to Bryant and went into the Freds over there and they had the Gorilla and Parrot set. That is what Miss Avana got and she loves them. I also got her some markers from Target. I was so mad when I opened them for her to color with they were already dried out. I put them back and I am taking them back! This is ridiculous! We had drama over that a while as she didn't understand why she could play with her markers. Okay, so I took a picture of Avana too with her Gorilla and Parrot. She is making a monkey sound while I was tryign to take a picture. Check out that hair! As many of you know, she has very curly hair. When she wakes up in the morning it is everywhere. Adam calls her Wild Woman! I have to wet that stuff to get it settled down. She is going to hate it when she gets older I am afraid and Brooke, on the other hand, has straight hair and would love to have curly hair. We are never happy with what the Good Lord gives us. Again, Happy Valentine's Day!!!!

More pictures to share

Here are just a few pics one is of Adam and I at New York and the other, of course, is of our family pet, Woodrow. Adam is not a picture person so there may not be very many of him posted very often. Well, as far as that goes I'm not really either. So most of the time you will see mostly the girls. I was going to take some pictures of the house project but when I came through they were still working on setting the blocks and I don't like stopping when there are a bunch of men there, especially with two children, just to take pictures so maybe this weekend while no one is working I can take some.

Background

Thanks Rach for the help on the background for the blog. Adam wanted to know why his pic and Woodrow, our dog, picture is not on here. I guess I will have to add them. They are going to start laying the blocks tomorrow for our house. I will try to get up there and take a pic even though you can't tell anything about it. More pictures to come.

Suckered into Blogging

Okay, so I am going to try this whole blogging thing. I don't know how well I will keep it updated with all the goings on in my life right now but will try. NE-Ways, here are a couple of pics of my two beautiful girls, Brooke is 8 and Avana is 2. Brooke is my more serious type and Avana is going to be my clown.

On another note, Adam and I have started builing a house. We are both excited and scared about the whole process so please pray for us that we will get through it without a knock down drag out. HAHA. Adam is working at Arkansas Electric Coop. in Wrightsville and I stay at home and do medical transcription for Little Rock Cardiology Clinic. Well, here is a start on our life story. I will try to keep this thing updated as much as possible. By the way, I am new to this and I want to know how everyone gets those pretty backgrounds and stuff on their blog, I need something for mine.
